Delta Airlines first class Detroit to San Diego

Since I already spent $50 on a one-day Sky Club pass back at SAN, I thought that I should get as much for my money as possible and check out the Sky Club here in DTW. It had been a long day already, and all I really wanted to do was check into the hotel and get some rest. I was in no mood to hang out in an airline lounge, but for the sake of this blog, I pushed on…

After a quick sushi dinner at Sora (located near gate 35), I hopped on the elevated train to the far north end of the terminal. The lounge is located upstairs, conveniently adjacent to the boarding platform to the train.

It was shortly after 8pm at this point, and since the lounge closed at 9, it was quite empty. As a matter of fact, I was the only one in the place! That really surprised me considering how large of an airport DTW is.

I just walked around taking pictures since I wasn’t planning on staying. I thought the SAN Sky Club was nice – but this was much better! Instead of one large open space, the floor plan segmented into many different smaller rooms down one large hallway, which makes everything feel very private and sophisticated.

Even though it was tired and slightly irritated with myself for spending $50 on a Sky Club pass, I’m really glad I got to see this lounge here in DTW.
